Hello Again :)

Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing well.

So…it’s been a while since my last post and you may be wondering what the heck happened!? Or maybe not? Either way, I’m gonna tell you anyway :) But before I do, I would like to thank those who had sent me concerned emails and a special phone call. I truly appreciated the caring and concern and I thank you for going out of your way to see how I was doing.

So…why have I not posted in a while? Well, to make a long story short, I had experienced a few – and quite negative responses – not only to how I live my life, but also in how I inform people how I live my life. The words “arrogant”, “smug”, “full of yourself”, amongst others, were used by people who I considered friends – not close friends thankfully – but friends none-the-less.

Normally, what people think of me and my living a simple lifestyle, matters little to me. If one is on-board with how I live, then cool…if they are not…then that’s cool as well. I like how I live and that’s all that matters. Yet, for some reason their words stung hard and I began to wonder if I was indeed “full of myself” and “arrogant”!! And that’s when I stopped posting.

I began to wonder if folks really needed another blogger telling them how to live their lives. And even though I try not to come off too one-sided – ie: everything me me me – I realize that it may seem like that to some folk. After all, for the most part, blogging is a one way street, and that can’t be helped. However, when there is interaction between reader and blogger – especially in the comments section – this opens up the conversation nicely and the addition of another voice makes it a beautiful two-way street…and a little more interesting :)

Now…all that to say…and upon much reflection, it appeared I was having my own little pity party. And after a while that began to bother me. So I decided to take a little time off to see where things would go – although I honestly didn’t mean it to be almost two months – and after much thought I am happy to say that I have missed posting here – but more importantly – I have missed our interactions. I have missed reading your comments and/or blogs and while I am glad that I took this small sabbatical, I so look forward to catching up with y’all :)

As I wrap this up, if there is a take-away in any of this, it is…live your life as honestly as you can! Don’t allow others to derail your ideals, beliefs and/or values. After all, these characteristics are what make us uniquely who we are.

Once again, thanks to those who reached out. Your words were greatly appreciated and heartfelt.

Take care all and thanks for being here :)

As usual, I’d love to read your thoughts on this topic so please, keep the conversation flowing by adding a comment below.
